Its location was peaceful and handy, so close to Gretna Green for a wedding, the Gretna Green chapel and shops, and shops.

Simply no complains at all, really lovely stay. Great value and beautifully decorated accommodation with wonderful setting just off the retail outlets et al, centre of Gretna Green, and the Blacksmiths shop. The staff - welcoming and kind. Excellent pudding, cakes, and potato in the lounge area.

The hotel had a central location in the unlikely event that I find myself in Gretna again. I had quick bite at Subway, it was nearby.

Had a wonderful Christmas stay! The breakfast was absolutely delicious, with a wide variety of options including a full English breakfast and a selection of cereals and fruits. The location was perfect, just a short distance from the famous old smithy. Another advantage was the friendly and accommodating hosts, who were always ready to help with any special requests.

The towels provided were thin and small, and the shower was a bit difficult to use. Additionally, there was a mistake on the billing when we checked out, which caused some confusion and inconvenience.

I had an absolutely fantastic stay at the Anvil and didn't want to leave. The upgraded delux room was stunning, with a spacious and clean bathroom that had an LCD television over the bath/jacuzzi. The friendly atmosphere and delicious breakfast made our mornings enjoyable. The location may not offer a lot to do, but it was a perfect place to relax and unwind. I highly recommend the Anvil for a wonderful stay.

The personnel was fairly friendly and very pleasant, and the owner too. We got well presented room with spa bath which was lovely.
